Zone2AI is operated by Unbounded Technologies LLC.
Zone2AI ("we," "us," or "our") provides mobile and web-based applications to help users track and optimize their Zone 2 training performance. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information, including personally identifiable data ("Personal Data") and other related information.
Apple HealthKit data is processed and displayed directly on your device. We do not store your HealthKit data on our servers, and we do not share it with advertising platforms, third-party analytics, or data brokers. You can revoke Zone2AI's access to your HealthKit data at any time through your Apple Health settings.
AI coaching. If you use Zone2AI's optional AI coaching features, a limited summary of your health and fitness metrics is transmitted securely to Google's Gemini AI service for the sole purpose of generating your personalized coaching text. Depending on the features you use and the data available in Apple Health, this summary may include: heart-rate-derived training metrics (such as your resting heart rate, heart rate zones, and workout heart-rate summaries), VO2 Max, age, workout summaries (activity type, duration, and time in zone), sleep summaries, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, training streaks and trends, and, only if you record them in Apple Health, optionally logged wellness entries (such as caffeine, alcoholic beverages, or nutrition totals). This data is used transiently to produce your coaching message: we do not store it on our servers, it is not used for advertising, it is never sold, and under the terms of the paid Google AI API we use, Google does not use it to train its models. Your coaching insights are observations to support your training. Zone2AI never uses this data to diagnose, treat, or monitor any disease or medical condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice.
On Android, Zone2AI reads data from Health Connect only after you grant each permission, and only to power features you can see in the app. Zone2AI never writes to Health Connect. The data types it can read are exercise sessions, heart rate, resting heart rate, VO2 max, distance, active calories burned, sleep, heart rate variability, steps, weight and height:
Health Connect data is processed on your device, and we do not upload Health Connect records to our servers. When you open an AI coaching insight, a limited summary of the relevant numbers is sent through our server to Google Gemini to write that message, as described above, and is not stored. Health Connect measurements are never sent to our analytics service. From your health data, our product analytics (Mixpanel) receives only the heart rate zones Zone2AI calculates (your Zone 2 range and Zone 5 floor) and workout summaries (activity type, duration and minutes in zone), under a random app identifier, never with your name or email. We do not sell Health Connect data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers.
Zone2AI's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke Zone2AI's access at any time in your phone's Settings, under Health Connect, App permissions, Zone2AI.
Connecting a Garmin account is entirely optional. If you choose to connect, you authorize Garmin to share certain fitness and activity data with Zone2AI so we can personalize your Zone 2 heart rate training. We use Garmin's Health API, Garmin's Activity API, and a Zone2AI Garmin Connect IQ watch app. We never receive or store your Garmin login credentials, and all access uses tokens issued through Garmin's secure OAuth 2.0 process.
When you connect Garmin and as you complete activities, we may collect:
We do not collect or store your Garmin GPS tracks, location, routes, sleep, stress, body composition, pulse ox, respiration, or any Garmin account profile or contact information. Your Garmin data is stored under an anonymous Zone2AI identifier, not your Garmin user ID.
We use this data solely to power the app's fitness features: calculating and personalizing your Zone 2 (and Zone 5) heart rate ranges, recognizing and analyzing your workouts, tracking your training progress and goals, and generating optional AI coaching messages. We do not use Garmin data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Your Garmin data is stored securely with Google Firebase / Firestore (a Google Cloud service), which acts as our hosting and database provider. We also rely on the following service provider, who processes this data only on our behalf to deliver an app feature:
We use a separate product analytics service (Mixpanel) to understand feature performance and reliability. We do not send your Garmin physiological values (such as VO2 Max, resting heart rate, or workout heart rate) to our analytics service, and we never send it your Garmin credentials, location, or GPS data. These providers act as our processors under their own privacy and security commitments. We do not share your Garmin data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties, and we do not sell it.
We retain your Garmin data for as long as your Garmin account stays connected, so the app can show your history and trends. You can delete it at any time as described below.
You can stop the data flow and delete the Garmin data we hold at any time. Disconnecting Garmin in the Zone2AI app's settings permanently deletes the Garmin fitness metrics and all Garmin workout data we store for you, retaining only the minimal identifier needed to reconnect you later if you choose. You may also revoke Zone2AI's access from your Garmin Connect account settings; doing so immediately stops any further collection and triggers deletion of the Garmin fitness metrics and workout data we hold for you. You can also request deletion at any time by emailing us at support@zone2ai.com.
Zone2AI is a general wellness and fitness app. The Garmin data above is used only to personalize fitness training. It is not used to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any disease or medical condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice.
We may also collect minimal non-personal data to improve the user experience, including:
We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your data to third parties.
If you join the Zone2AI for Android waitlist on zone2ai.com, we store the email address you enter, the time you signed up, and the campaign tags in the link you arrived from (for example utm_source). We use your email only to tell you when Zone2AI for Android is available. We do not add it to marketing lists, sell it, or share it with anyone except Google Cloud (Firestore), which stores it on our behalf. We delete waitlist emails once the launch notice has been sent, or sooner if you ask us at support@zone2ai.com.
When you use Zone2AI inside ChatGPT, ChatGPT sends our server only what is needed to estimate your Zone 2 range: your age, and if you give them, your resting heart rate, a max heart rate you have measured, and your sex. If you mention a heart condition, chest pain, heart-rate medication or pregnancy, ChatGPT may send that fact as a yes or no so that we can decline to give a range.
We use these values only to calculate the range in that moment and send it back to ChatGPT. We do not store them, we do not link them to you or to any Zone2AI account, and we do not use them for advertising or to build a profile. No sign-in is involved.
We keep only aggregate counts: how many times the tool was used, and how many requests returned a range, a safety message, or an input error. These counts contain no inputs and no identifiers.
When you tap a link in the Zone2AI card, our server counts the tap by where it came from (the card, the QR code or the chat text) and by phone type (iPhone, Android, Mac or other), then forwards you to the App Store or our website. We do not record your IP address or anything that identifies you.
Our server runs on Vercel, which processes standard request information such as IP addresses to deliver the service and keep it secure, and keeps its operational logs for a short period. OpenAI's handling of your conversation is governed by OpenAI's own privacy policy.
The range is an estimate for general fitness and is not medical advice. Questions or deletion requests: support@zone2ai.com.
Zone2AI may integrate with third-party services (e.g., payment processors, cloud storage providers). These services have their own privacy policies, which we encourage users to review.
We regularly review our compliance with this Privacy Policy. If you have concerns or questions about how we handle data, please contact us at support@zone2ai.com.
If we receive formal written complaints, we will respond promptly and take appropriate steps to address the issue.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision.
If significant changes are made, we will notify users through in-app messages or emails where applicable.
By continuing to use Zone2AI after these changes take effect, you agree to the revised Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the United States of America, and we comply with applicable data protection regulations, including:
If you access Zone2AI from outside the United States of America, you do so at your own discretion and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:
